11th December- Singing For Heroes.
Military Wives campaign to get song to help forgotten Army heroes to top of the charts
The single will raise money for the Daily Mirror and Walking With The Wounded Christmas campaign.
As Shelli leans towards the microphone, the tear stains are still showing on her face.
She is part of the Military Wives’ Choir , and with every note she sings from the heart, she can’t help but be reminded of her dad’s two-decade battle with post traumatic stress disorder.
After witnessing the horrors of conflict around the world, former colour sergeant David suffered alcoholism, suicidal thoughts and night terrors .
And now the memories return as Shelli records the charity single for the Daily Mirror and Walking With The Wounded’s Walking Home
for Christmas campaign.
“He drank so he didn’t hear the screams and have nightmares,” says tearful Shelli, 36.
